JAMB CUT OFF MARKS FOR 2020/2021 ADMISSION SESSION

Jamb Cut Off Marks: Firstly, let’s talk about the Jamb cut off mark for 2020/2021 admission session, after the conclusion of the just passed UTME examination the next thing student search for is the general cut off mark for most available university, Polytechnic, and lastly College of Education, if you are however new to this, this article is definitely for you to go through.

After the passed Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), the board conducting the examination will sit appropriately with the V. C’s of all universities, Rectors & Provost in other to decide on the general Cut Off Mark based on the performance student that participate in the examination,

 

CUT OFF MARKS ARE ACTUALLY GIVEN BY SCHOOL AND JAMB ITSELF

  • General Cut Off Marks which are always released by Jamb board itself.
  • School/institution Cut Off Marks, this will be release by the institution you choose.

General Cut Off Mark by JAMB Board

General Cut Off Mark is the minimum cut off mark being announced by the Jamb Registrar for all the Universities, Polytechnic and College of Education nationwide, which means the candidate that does not meet up with the minimum cut off mark for either the Universities, Polytechnic & College of Education may not participate in the Post UTME screening test that will be performed,

 

Second Cut Off Mark decided by the Institution

The Second Cut Off Mark is decided by each institution nationwide, after Jamb releases their minimum cut off mark each Universities, Polytechnic & College Of Education will now sit and decide on their own cut off mark (Benchmark) which will be use to admit the student for that year.

N/B: cut off marks that will be released by school are determined by the JAMB board as a whole.

 

JAMB General Cut Off Marks for each Universities.

The general/minimum cut off mark that is set for all universities by JAMB is 150, that is to say if you score 150 in your UTME examination that does not guarantee you can apply to any Universities yet of your choice because there are some universities that their cut off mark is more than 150, which means that they are not allowed to decrease but to increase their cut off mark for example University of Ibadan, University of Benin, University of Lagos and some other universities which their cut off mark is 200 as a whole.

 

Jamb general  Cut Off Marks for each Polytechnic.

The general cut off mark being set out for all polytechnic by Jamb is 120, which also means they are not allowed to decease by increase their cut off mark more than 120.

 

Jamb  general Cut Off Marks for College of Education.

The general cut off mark being set out for all the Colleges of Education by Jamb is 100, which also means they are not allowed to decease by increase their cut off mark more than 100.
